Delta TP04G-AS2

The Delta TP04G-AS2 is a highly popular, compact Text Panel HMI from Delta’s TP series.¹ It is frequently used in simple machinery where a full-color touch screen is unnecessary, but a rugged interface for monitoring and parameter adjustment is required.

Unlike the DOP-B series, this unit relies on a physical keypad and a high-contrast monochrome screen.

1. Display and Interface

The “04” in the model name indicates the display capacity (4 lines of text).

• Display Type: STN LCD (Monochrome).²

   

• Resolution: ³$128 \times 64$ pixels.⁴

   

• Backlight: Yellow-Green LED (long-life).

• Interface: Features 12 user-defined function keys (F1–F12) and a numeric keypad for direct control and data entry.⁵

2. Connectivity and Communication

The TP04G-AS2 is designed to communicate with PLCs, VFDs, and Temperature Controllers via serial protocols.⁶

• COM 1 (RS-232): Typically used for programming via a PC or connecting to a single PLC.

• COM 2 (RS-485): Optimized for industrial networking.⁷ It supports Modbus RTU/ASCII, making it easy to daisy-chain multiple Delta VFDs or controllers.

   

• Protocol Support: Built-in drivers for Delta DVP PLCs, as well as Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Omron.
