Mitsubishi E1022

The Mitsubishi E1022 is a compact, rugged keypad-operated HMI from the E1000 Series. Like the E1032, it was manufactured by Beijer Electronics for Mitsubishi Electric. It is designed for simple control tasks in environments where a touchscreen is not ideal, offering a tactile and durable interface for machine operators.

The E1022 is the smaller sibling of the E1032, designed for basic data monitoring and parameter adjustment.

• Display Type: FSTN LCD (Monochrome).

• Resolution: $240 \times 64$ pixels.

• Backlight: LED backlight with adjustable contrast.

• Keypad: Features 6 programmable function keys (F1–F6) with integrated LEDs, along with a numeric keypad and navigation arrows for data entry.

2. Connectivity and Communication

Despite its small size, the E1022 offers flexible serial communication options:

• Serial Port (RS-232C): 9-pin D-sub (Male). Used primarily for programming from a PC or point-to-point connection to a PLC.

• Serial Port (RS-422/485): 25-pin D-sub (Female). This is the standard port for high-speed networking with Mitsubishi FX or Q-Series PLCs.

• Note on Ethernet: Unlike the higher models (like E1032 or E1041), the standard E1022 does not typically include a built-in Ethernet port.

Legacy & Maintenance Note

The E1022 is a Legacy product and is no longer in active production.

• Replacement: If you are looking for a modern equivalent, the Mitsubishi GOT2000 Series (e.g., GT2104) is the current standard. However, since the E1022 is a keypad unit and the GOT2000 is a touchscreen, you would need to redesign the operator interface logic.

• Battery: Uses a 3V lithium battery for memory backup. If the HMI displays a battery warning or loses its clock settings, the battery should be replaced to prevent data loss.
