Modicon TM2DDO32TK

The Modicon TM2DDO32TK is a high-density Digital Output Expansion Module from Schneider Electric’s TM2 series.¹ Like the Twido controller we just discussed, the “TK” suffix indicates that it uses HE10 (MIL) connectors instead of screw terminals to achieve a very high I/O count in a small physical footprint.²

It is compatible with Modicon M238, M258, and Twido modular PLC bases.³

1. Output Configuration

The primary feature of this module is its density, providing 32 output points in a module only 29.7 mm wide.

• Output Type: Transistor (Sink).⁴ Note: Sink outputs switch the negative side of the load (0V).

2. Current and Load Limits

Because the module is so compact, there are specific thermal and current limits to follow:

• Current per Channel: 0.1 A (100 mA). This is suitable for driving small relays, solenoid valves, or PLC-to-PLC signaling, but not for heavy loads.

• Current per Connector: 2 A maximum.

• Total Module Current: 4 A maximum.

• Leakage Current: Less than 0.1 mA when in the “OFF” state.

To use this module effectively, you typically need the Advantys Telefast pre-wired system:

• Cables: Use TWDFCW30K (3-meter) or TWDFCW50K (5-meter) pre-molded HE10 cables.

• Terminal Base: These cables plug into an ABE7 series sub-base (like the ABE7H16R20), which breaks the 20-pin connector out into standard screw terminals for your field wiring.
